Ascension Home Health Care provides medical home help, under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and non-medical home help to elderly and disabled individuals, and individuals with disabilities resulting from injuries sustained in automobile or work-related accidents.
Ascension is listed as an approved agency on the Home Help Registry for the state of Michigan. The agency participates in the Medicare Waiver Program through Michigan Department of Health & Human Services Adult Services and Tri County Office on Aging Project Choices programs. Ascension's greatest achievement to date is establishing partnership with Community Mental Health to provide personal care aides, community living supports, nursing visits, respite care and homemaker services to clients in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties.
The agency is now an approved externship site for students graduating from Career Quest and Ross Medical in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), and Medical Insurance Billing & Office Administration (MIBOA) fields. Students complete 6 weeks (up to 180 hours) of required field training prior to graduation. A student may be offered employment with Ascension upon successful completion of their externship, at the discretion of their school's faculty and the site manager.
In addition, Ascension works with most private insurance companies. The agency is a proud member of the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA). The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA), is private non-profit unincorporated association, created by the state Legislature in 1978. Under Michigan's auto insurance no-fault law, MCCA provides unlimited lifetime coverage for medical expenses resulting from automobile accidents. The MCCA reimburses auto no-fault insurance companies for each Personal Injury Protection (PIP) medical claim paid in excess of a set amount.
